Aon Center is a 62-story, 860 ft Modernist office skyscraper located at 707 Wilshire Boulevard in downtown Los Angeles, California. It is the third tallest building in Los Angeles, the fourth largest in California, and the 58th tallest in the United States. Site excavation started in late 1970, and the tower was completed in 1973. Designed by Charles Luckman, the rectangular bronze-clad building with white trim is remarkably slender for a skyscraper in a seismically active area. The building is approximately 1.2 million square feet, the exterior façade consists of an aluminum-framed curtain wall with solar bronze glazing, and aluminum panels clad the four corners of the property. A fire occurred in 1988 on five floors, and the curtain wall was replaced on Floors 11 through 17.

MCA was hired by Shorenstein Realty Services, LP to investigate leaks that have occurred within the building and survey the building’s curtain wall. MCA performed the assessment of the exterior curtain wall system and performed investigative water testing in 2017. MCA designed and observed several mock-ups of repairs and sealing for the curtain wall.

MCA is performing construction observations for the repairs of the curtain wall. The project is active with estimated completion in 2022.
